The Thanet Congress takes place Friday 21st August to Sunday 23rd August, an entry form is available to download on the downloads page.

A leaflet for accomodation at the Broadstairs campus of Christchurch University is also available for dowload.

Mick Croft Resignation

Mick Croft has decided to stand down as Chairman of the Thanet Chess League as from the AGM. He does not think he should be involved with League business anymore because he is unlikely to feel like playing chess again. He has been involved for forty years as a player, captain and secretary within the Thanet Chess League as well as Chairman. He also holds all three posts of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer at Margate Club, from which he is also standing down.

Harvey Cup

Thanet were back on winning form in their match away to Tonbridge after a defeat in the previous match. Full results can be found in ‘Tables > Other Competitions’

Mick Croft Cup

The final of the Mick Croft Cup is to be played between Bridge and Folkestone. The full match results of the semi finals can be found in ‘Tables > Other Competitions’.

Hargreaves League

Following the decision to declare the result of the Herne Bay v Broadstairs match void, the table has been updated and the results of the match removed. See ‘Tables’ for the updated tables for the Hargreaves League and Miller Cup.

Mick Croft Cup

Two results for the Mick Croft Cup.
Herne Bay defeated Margate and Broadstairs lost to Folkestone, full result list can be found in ‘Tables’ - ‘Other Competitions’.

Harvey Cup

Thanet won their second match of the season, beating Medway 4-2 at home. Full result in ‘Tables’ - Other Competitions.

Harvey Cup

Thanet travelled to Hastings in the first match of the competition and came away with an impressive victory, winning 5-1. Best result was by Terry Green, outgraded by 67 points but winning with an unstoppable mating attack. Full results can be found in ‘Tables’ > ‘Other Competitions’.
